A retired New York State trooper, in ICU with COVID-19, has now been taken off a ventilator, less than two weeks after receiving convalescent plasma.
Danny Fernandez, 54, was one of the first patients at Orange Regional Medical Center to receive the experimental treatment after being on a ventilator for days without showing any signs of improvement.
Fernandez’s family say he’s still in ICU, but that they’re hopeful he’ll continue to improve.
