Retail will reopen Tuesday after three months of being closed, as the mid-Hudson region enters Phase 2 of the state's Moving New York Forward plan.
In Phase 2, retail stores are only allowed 50% occupancy. Once Upon a Child in Scarsdale, a store that features gently-used items for resale for children, says that it recommends customers take extra precautions when taking items back home.
Employees must wear face masks, and there must be physical barriers at registers.
Stores must also provide hand hygiene stations, regularly clean and disinfect and have floor markers establishing 6 feet of separation.
Under the executive order, restaurants also must only have seating outdoors and tables have to be at least 6 feet apart. Staff and customers also must wear masks too when they're not at their table.
The real estate industry will also be reopening under Phase 2. For sellers, buyers and renters, home showings can resume but the property must be vacant.
At open houses, only one party is allowed inside at a time.
