Nearly 3,000 people remained without power in Putnam County Sunday, five days after Tuesday’s ferocious storm.
Patterson resident Hugo Ramirez was sitting in his living room when the storm rolled through, with strong winds, pouring rain and tornados.

He said glass shattered in his living room, but most of the damage was to the roof. Four large trees fell on the Ramirez property alone.
The Ramirez family had power restored Friday night, but as of Sunday morning, NYSEG was reporting nearly 3,000 without electricity in Putnam County.
More than 2,000 employees are now working around the clock to restore power to the area.
NYSEG said it hoped to have most of its customers’ power restored by Sunday night, but homeowners have no idea how long it'll take to clean up the damage, including massive downed trees.
