Residents in Rye say four LGBTQ+ pride flags were taken from outside homes and tossed into the woods.
The alleged thefts come one week after a pride flag was set on fire outside a home.
Activists say the string of vandalism began in June. Since then, almost a dozen flags were damaged or stolen, sparking outrage in the community.
The Westchester County Human Rights Commission has denounced the flag burning act as a hate crime.
Rye police say the incidents are being investigated.
