People in Rockland County are asking lawmakers to do something about a dangerous railroad crossing after a CSX freight train hit a car on both Saturday and Thursday nights in Congers.
Both accidents happened at the intersection of Congers Lake Road West and South Rockland Avenue.
Residents say the intersection is poorly lit, causing some drivers to turn onto the tracks rather than the road. Some of the drivers have gotten stuck in a ditch as a result.
No one was injured in either accident, but some worry the next driver won't be so lucky.
Residents say they've spoken to legislators about getting reflectors or lights installed.
