The superintendent of the New York State Police is stepping down.
Joseph D'Amico, who was a 30-year veteran for the NYPD, reportedly handed in his resignation Friday to Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
There is no word on why the 56-year-old resigned.
D'Amico, who is a West Nyack resident, made headlines back in January for voiding a ticket issued by a trooper to an NYPD officer, who hit a state police van on the state Thruway in Yonkers.
