Religious leaders held a press conference in New Rochelle following the stabbing that killed a 16-year-old last week.
As News 12 has reported, police say 16-year-old Valaree Schwab was stabbed and killed by her classmate, Zinah Brown. It happened at a Dunkin' Donuts in New Rochelle last Wednesday.
Leaders of all faiths gathered this weekend to speak about their renewed commitment to teaching and protecting young people. They say they're committed to creating places that are free from harassment and violence.
The religious leaders say they plan to organize future talks in the community.
A funeral Mass for the slain teen is scheduled to be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Pelham Monday at 10 a.m.
