Recovery and rebuilding efforts got underway in parts of Orange County that were in the path of Thursday's powerful storms.
The cleanup in Greenwood Lake was going strong as of Thursday evening, although emergency crews said it was not all going to happen overnight.
The storm left trees uprooted, branches scattered and brought down power lines in some major streets around the community.
Neighbors described the storm as powerful and a rare event for the area.
The National Weather Service said that storm was not a tornado or microburst but rather "straight line winds" that tore through the area.
No one was hurt but the damage was extensive on some streets.
