Police arrested Yonkers native and rap star Jadakiss Saturday for drug and weapons possession after a traffic stop in Yonkers.

Thirty-one-year-old Jadakiss, whose real name is Jason Phillips, was in a car with friends when police pulled it over at the corner of Nepperhan Avenue and Elm Street around 4:30 a.m. Police say they smelled marijuana coming from the car. Police found pot on Phillips and a fully loaded stolen handgun in the vehicle. Police also arrested 27-year-old Benjamin Lockhart, 31-year-old Kristian Smith and driver 24-year-old Daniel Frazier, all from Yonkers.

Phillips was arrested in North Carolina in July 2004 also on drug and weapons charges. All four men are charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property, which are felonies. The men are due back in court October 10.
