Ramapo police are looking for a man accused of slashing his girlfriend on Christmas morning inside a home on Ibeck Court in Hillcrest.

They say she needed stitches and that he is facing an assault and weapons charge.

Police are not releasing a photo of the suspect but say he is a 37-year-old Hispanic man from Hillcrest.

They add there is no threat to the public.

Center for Safety & Change, a Rockland-based organization, has this message for those dealing with domestic violence. "One, you're not alone. And two, help is available. Just call us,” said Phyllis B. Frank with the center.
