Ramapo H.S. senior accepted to 12 colleges

A Ramapo High School senior was accepted to 12 colleges, including some Ivy League schools.

Cyan Deveaux, who is currently the salutatorian of her graduating class, was accepted to prestigious schools like Harvard University, Yale University and Cornell University.

The senior says she has not yet made up her mind on which college she will attend, but has until May to make her decision.

Deveaux credits her passion for learning to her parents.

"My parents always emphasized education, instilled that at a very young age, so I thoroughly enjoy learning," she says.

Deveaux says she is proud of her East Ramapo roots, receiving an education in a school district that has been under fire in recent years over inequality in education and funding.
