Rain to linger Thursday in the Hudson Valley ahead of sunny weekend

News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Matt Hammer says there will be some sunny breaks Thursday but it will be mostly cloudy with isolated showers.

WHAT'S NEW: Mostly cloudy skies, batches of scattered showers and temps about 10-15 degrees cooler than average.
WHAT'S NEXT: The first weekend of May will be a complete reversal of how last weekend was. The shower chances are gone, the temps will trend milder and the air trend drier as high pressure moves in.

OVERNIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies, light winds, spotty showers. Lows in the 40s.
THURSDAY: Some sunny breaks but otherwise mostly cloudy with isolated showers. Highs in the 50s. Lows in the 40s.
FRIDAY: Cinco De Mayo – Partly to mostly cloudy, still cool, with a spot shower or two possible. Highs in the upper-50s to low-60s. Lows in the 40s.
SATURDAY: Partly cloudy to mostly sunny with temperatures around average levels. Highs in the mid-60s. Lows in the upper-40s.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny and warmer. Highs in the upper-60s to low-70s. Lows in the upper-40s to low-50s.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny, staying warm, with a dry breeze. Highs in the 70s. Lows in the 50s.
TUESDAY: A mix of sun and clouds to mostly sunny skies, above average temps and a warm breeze. Highs in the mid-70s. Lows in the low- to mid-50s.
WEDNESDAY: Sun and clouds with temps a touch cooler. Highs in the 60s. Lows in the upper-40s to low-50s.
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper-50s to low-60s. Lows in the upper-40s to low-50s.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny and pleasant. Highs in the upper-60s to low-70s. Lows in the 50s.SATURDAY: A few passing clouds, nice and mild. Highs in the upper-60s to low-70s. Lows in the 50s.
