Protests continued across the nation Wednesday night, but most stayed peaceful without major looting or damage.
In Washington, D.C., not far from the White House, protesters rallied very close to a large number of military personnel and police officers. But things remained peaceful and no arrests have been reported.
On the West Coast, thousands of marchers filled a bridge in Portland, Oregon. Many knelt in solidarity. This demonstration was peaceful but others, recently, in Portland have turned violent.
And from America's heartland, protesters and police joined together in dance in Lincoln, Nebraska. Black community leaders also met with the city's police chief. They signed an agreement to hold police officers accountable.
