A group of protesters in Rockland County want Ramapo Town Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence to step down.
The protest, which took place on Route 59 in Suffern, outside Ramapo Town Hall, came days after his arrest and federal indictment on fraud and corruption charges Thursday.
St. Lawrence made bail and immediately returned to Town Hall, saying he intends to continue his work for the people.
Some residents say they are concerned about the allegations of cheating taxpayers out of millions, and say he's unfit to continue his job.
So far, St. Lawrence hasn't commented on the fraud allegations and has pleaded not guilty.
News 12 reached out to his office about the protest, but hasn't heard back.
St. Lawrence faces 20 years in federal prison if convicted.
