There’s a new effort in Orange County to crack down on underage drinking.
District Attorney Dave Hoovler held a news conference Friday in Goshen announcing a two-part initiative called “Project Sticker Shock.“
It works by training bartenders to identify fake IDs and partners with restaurants and bars to display decals, posters and window stickers showing patrons that staff are committed to making sure no one is served underage.
“We want to make sure we educate the public and our retail do the best we can to keep alcohol out of underage individuals," said Hoovler.
Hoovler said last year his office prosecuted roughly a dozen cases of underage alcohol sales.
