A probe into workplace misconduct in Wallkill has now led to a recommendation of disciplinary action for the town supervisor.
Wallkill Town Supervisor Frank DenDanto was accused of sexual harassment and a hostile work environment by Town Comptroller Toni Tracy in 2020.
An independent investigator finalized the report last week and found DenDanto should be issued a written warning and probation.
DenDanto says the accusations are untrue and deflect from his probe into missing funds and alleged corruption by several town officials.
"I came to this chair because I thought shady stuff was happening in Town Hall, and turns out there might actually be shady stuff in Town Hall. There are people who have been here for quite a while who very much would like to look away," says DenDanto.
DenDanto says he's notified the state and the district attorney about the findings of his probe into town finances.
News 12 reached out to the town's attorney for comment but hasn't heard back.
