A presidential hopeful with close ties to the Hudson Valley stopped by a local summer festival on Thursday.
Former Gov. George Pataki attended the Annual Italian Feast in Verplanck. Pataki's father, Louis Pataki, was one of the feast's founders.
Although it wasn't an official stop on the campaign trail, Pataki spoke about what he would do if he won the 2016 presidential election.
"If I had the privilege to lead the country, I know I can lead it well, I can govern it well and change its direction," he said.
Pataki is one of 15 Republicans running for the Republican nomination.
