President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama will arrive in Westchester Friday, and local business owners are concerned the visit will affect them.
Boston Post Road will be sporadically shut down from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, worrying store owners on the street. Main and Hugenot streets from Echo Avenue to Emerson Avenue will also be sporadically shut down with no parking allowed.
Store owners say the closures will mean lost business.
"We think it may hurt business because of the cars, people won't be able to get through," says Sal Cucullo, who owns an Italian restaurant on Boston Post Road. "Most of our customers drive in." Robert Williams, who owns a comic book store, says he is concerned about how he and his employees are going to get to work and park with the limited amount of parking.
The Obamas are in town for two fundraisers in New Rochelle and Purchase. They will also attend a wedding Saturday in Pocantico Hills.
The president will spend Friday night in Westchester and head back to Washington, D.C. late Saturday night.
