Dozens gathered Monday in Chappaqua for a prayer service to remember the lives lost in the Orlando nightclub massacre.

Muslim, Christian and Jewish faith leaders spoke about the tragedy during the service, and each encouraged those in attendance to seek God's wisdom.

After songs and prayer, those at the service were asked to drop a pink rose at a rainbow flag. They also dropped 49 pennies, representing the 49 people killed. At least 50 more people were injured, officials say.

"For those that decide to kill others and cause such sorrow, I truly have a hard time believing that they have experienced love, absolute love, unconditional love," said the Rev. Martha Jacobs, of the First Congressional Church.

There was also a call for stricter gun control laws in the United States during the service.
