Congestion Pricing Pushback
Commuters in the suburbs and Republican lawmakers are pushing back a week after Gov. Kathy Hochul reignited congestion pricing.
While the governor has not, and most likely will not, change course after pausing the plan earlier this year, those faced with an extra charge to get into lower Manhattan are up in arms.
State Assembly Member Matt Slater sits on the Assembly Transportation Committee and weighed in on the plan and the fight to overturn it. Slater has called on President-elect Donald Trump to intervene once he's sworn into office.
"It doesn't matter if it's $5, $9 or $15. It is a tax, and New Yorkers are sick and tired of seeing a solution to every problem being a tax," he said.
RFK Jr. and Health Care
In 2023, News 12 Senior Reporter Tara Rosenblum sat down for a one-on-one with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. while he was still actively campaigning for the White House.
This week, we looked back at that interview, particularly how he answered certain health-related questions as Trump said he planned to nominate him to lead the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Federal money for nonprofits
Last year, News 12 first
reported that Sustainable Westchester was selected as one of nine nonprofits in the country to help the U.S. Department of Energy distribute $45 million in federal funding.
Now, the applications are open for nonprofits across the country to apply for that money to put toward green projects.
We take a look at what that process is and what it means for the Mount Kisco-based nonprofit.
