Poughkeepsie man sentenced for murder committed while out on bail for attempted murder
A Poughkeepsie man, who was out on bail for a previous crime, has been sentenced to 25 years in a 2020 shooting death.
Authorities say Carl Hannans, 21, shot Evan Davis at the Martin Luther King Apartments in Poughkeepsie.
Hannan was also charged with attempted murder for a shooting incident involving a 17-year-old in Poughkeepsie in that same year.
He was sentenced to 23 years to life for that incident. The two sentences will be served concurrently.
