A Poughkeepsie man is scheduled to be sentenced today in connection to an attack on police officers two years ago.
Jalil Smith was convicted in September of multiple charges in the November 2020 incident that included stabbing a police officer in the neck with a screw driver.
Smith was convicted of aggravated assault of a police officer, two counts of assault and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.
The jury acquitted Smith of attempted murder.
