2h agoA crossing guard was struck and killed by a car in Poughkeepsie while working near Smith Elementary School Monday morning.
Police said James Montanino, 72, was hit while on duty and later died at the hospital.
The driver stayed at the scene. Police said the incident appears to have been an accident.
Montanino leaves behind his wife, Rose.
