Pothole repair work shut down parts of the Palisades Parkway Tuesday.
The southbound side of the parkway near Exit 18 was closed most of Tuesday as crews spent hours filling in potholes with almost 6 tons of heated asphalt mix.
The section of the parkway from the Bear Mountain Circle to Exit 15 is a rough stretch for drivers after a brutal winter. "There's a lot of potholes on it, hopefully they will fill them, along with everything else around this area, the potholes are terrible, the winter's been terrible. We want spring!" said driver Christina Murphy-Borg.
Road crews will be closing sections of the parkway north and southbound throughout the rest of this week while repairs continue.
