Officials say a large pothole disabled five cars on Interstate 287 in White Plains during the morning rush hour Friday, leading to massive traffic delays.
Police say they received reports of the problem at 6 a.m. A massive pothole had engulfed much of the center lane heading east between exits 8 and 9.
Crews from the Department of Public Works rushed to make repairs, according to police.
Work is expected to continue on Interstates 287 and 95 throughout the day.
