Port Chester unveils sign to stop residents from illegal dumping

Residents will now see a sign near the storm drains that reads, “Dump no waste, drains to river.” The sign is meant to remind litterers that pollution travels from the storm drains to the Byram River.

The village of Port Chester is trying its own method to put a stop to illegal dumping.
Residents will now see a sign near the storm drains that reads, “Dump no waste, drains to river.” The sign is meant to remind litterers that pollution travels from the storm drains to the Byram River.
The village says is working to eliminate grease and garbage from the storm drain system and to improve the coastline of the village.
