Port Chester volunteer firefighter Milton Guamarrigra has been deported to Ecuador after spending two months in ICE detainment.
This video, filmed by a neighbor, shows Milton Guamarrigra being taken into custody on July 29.
Milton had worked with the fire department since 2018 and was a village resident for more than 20 years.
His daughter, Joselyn, says he was never registered in ICE's database at any point during his detainment.
Her family says they relied on phone calls to keep track of his location.
Founding Attorney Robert Tsigler, with the Law Offices of Robert Tsigler, spoke with News 12 on Tuesday regarding the case.
While he is not associated with the case, he says immigrants facing similar obstacles are becoming more common.
"Right now, the Trump administration, they've launched massive operations in essence to deport as many people as possible and during this process, it'salmost become impossible for them to afford the detainees due process," said founding attorney Robert Tsigler, with the Law Offices of Robert Tsigler.
Guamarrigra's family says the situation has taken a huge emotional toll on the family.
They plan to meet with a new attorney on Oct. 8.
News 12 reached out to Port Chester's mayor, village manager and ICE but has not heard back.
