Port Chester police helped return an escaped alpaca to its owner on Saturday.

The department says a trailer was traveling on the 95 and 287 when its rear gate opened, allowing the animal to run off.

Officers were able to corral the alpaca and keep it calm until it could be reunited with the owner.
