The Port Chester Board of Education held a special meeting Thursday night, letting the public know that the ethics committee has interviewed School Board President Thomas Corbia this week.

Disappointed and disgusted are just a few of the words repeatedly coming from dozens of people in Port Chester to the Board of Education as the investigation drags into the second month involving the school board's president, who is facing allegations of a racially charged comment on Facebook

Corbia was not in the meeting, but board members say the ethics committee will have a report of their findings by the end of next week.

The board president claims he was hacked when racially charged Facebook comments under his name surfaced in September.

The controversial post that had a reply under Corbia's name says, "I'm selling my white privilege card. It's just over 77 years old and it hasn't done a damn thing for me. No inheritance, no free college, no free food, no free housing, etc. I may even be willing to do an even trade for a race card. Those seem way more useful and more widely accepted."

There is a comment under Corbia's account saying, "Tommy, you are the BLANK-ing best and whoever doesn't like that post, well they know what they can do."

During Thursday night's special meeting - almost two months later - many community members say they were not holding their breath.

It's still isn't clear whether or not Corbia — who is represented by lawyers — has turned in his electronic devices for the investigation.

The school board says it will update the community next week on the status of the investigation and whether next steps will be needed.

News 12 tried to get in touch with Corbia for comment but has not gotten a response.
