The Republican candidate for Westchester district attorney, Dan Schorr, on Monday received the endorsement of the county's police union.
The union is backing Schorr over incumbent District Attorney Janet DiFiore. Union President Michael Hagan says his members are upset with what they see as lenient plea bargains and the intrusion of investigators from DiFiore's office into work normally done by police officers.
The endorsement Monday is the first time the police union has backed a challenger to an incumbent district attorney.
