Police are searching for a man who shot a 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy in Tremont Friday night because he thought they threw rocks at his car.
According to witnesses, children outside a community center threw rocks at a black Honda Oddyssey around 11 p.m., prompting the driver to allegedly get out and open fire. 
Two children were shot, but they say the had nothing to do with the rocks.
One victim's mother says police are searching for a known suspect with numerous previous arrests. She described him as a Hispanic male in his 30s weighing about 160 pounds.
The investigation is still ongoing.
