Police say one person was struck and killed by a train on Metro-North's New Haven Line at the Mount Vernon East station.
MTA officials say the unauthorized person was hit on the tracks just after 7 p.m. Tuesday. MTA and Mount Vernon police responded to the scene. The train was headed toward Grand Central Station.
There was no word on what the person was doing on the tracks.
Metro-North service on the line was facing delays Tuesday night.
