An argument between two brothers led to one being stabbed Saturday night at the Trumbull Mall.
Trumbull police say at 8 p.m, Jovanie Hall, 18, of Bridgeport, drove to the mall to pick up his brothers. They say as they walked in the parking lot, Hall stabbed his 16-year-old brother.
Their younger sibling grabbed Hall, which allowed the victim to escape and run back into the mall. Several officers, who were patrolling inside, responded and administered medical care.
The victim sustained multiple stabbed wounds and was transported to St. Vincent's Medical Center. Hall has minor lacerations to his hand.
Authorities say Hall fled the scene prior to the police arrival. He was taken into custody at his home a short time later.
He is charged with assault, carrying a dangerous weapon and breach of peace. He is scheduled to appear Bridgeport Superior court on Monday.
Police say they have recently increased their presence at the mall as the result of several incidents and disturbances on the weekends involving disorderly youths.
Additional officers will be posted at the mall in the upcoming weeks.
