Police: Saw Mill River Parkway lane reopens following serious single-car crash
A closed lane of the Saw Mill River Parkway reopened after a serious one-car crash forced its closure Thursday night.
Investigators have not revealed much about the incident, but said the car was badly damaged with pieces sprayed across the median and on an adjacent local road.
The incident happened right before Clarence Avenue near Exit 13 in Hastings-on-Hudson.
One witness said he saw a fire coming from the crash, so he hopped off his motorcycle and tried to help.
Witnesses said first responders had to use the Jaws of Life to pull the driver out.
The driver's condition or what led to the crash was not immediately known.
