Mount Vernon police say the shooting of a 25-year-old over the weekend was an unusually brazen act because officers were nearby.
Investigators say a gunman walked up to the victim?s car outside of Sue?s Rendezvous strip club at about 4 a.m. Saturday morning and fired two shots into the window. The bullets struck the 25-year-old man in the chest and shoulder.
"We had officers who were actually out there working the dismissal at Sue's Rendezvous, so this was a brazen act," says Mount Vernon Police Commissioner David Chong.
The victim is hospitalized and in critical condition.
