Police say a 69-year-old man was struck and killed by a Haverstraw police officer over the weekend.
Officials say Michael Rizzetta was struck by the officer's vehicle while crossing Route 202 in Haverstraw around 5 a.m. Saturday.
Rizzetta was taken to Nyack Hospital, where he later died.

The incident happened in front of a Mobil gas station, where employees say the victim visited every morning.
On Saturday, Rizzetta walked because his bus was stuck in the mud. His bus still remains parked up the street at the Rockland Motel, where Rizzetta had lived for the past two years.
Haverstraw police were not releasing details on what caused the crash and have not said if the officer involved will face any charges.
Officials do say that the officer involved is a 16-year member of the department and now on administrative leave.
