Police say a man was fatally shot in Mount Vernon Friday evening.
The shooting occurred at 70 W. Third Street just after 10 p.m.
Police say the victim died after being rushed to Montefiore Medical Center. So far, investigators are releasing few details about the shooting.
It is unclear if a suspect is in custody, although neighbors describe seeing a man being lead from the building by investigators in handcuffs Friday night.
Outside the building, friends, family, and neighbors have set up a makeshift memorial for the victim with candles and messages.
