A Fourth of July block party in New Rochelle turned violent when a 23-year-old man was stabbed early Sunday morning.
Officers were called to Morris Street and North Avenue just before 3 a.m. when the crowd of about 150 people became unruly.
Police say the unidentified 23-year-old was stabbed in the abdomen during a melee in the street. He is in stable condition.
Although the police have not released additional information about the incident, nearby residents say the fight involved dozens of people and a lot of drinking.
