Police are investigating how a Yonkers man died Sunday after his boat capsized in the New Croton Reservoir.
Sources tell News 12 that witnesses at the reservoir were close enough to see Rufus Barr stand up in his row boat, causing it to capsize.
His wife, Brenda Zingone says it doesn't make sense he would drown in shallow waters in broad daylight because the 53-year-old was an avid fisherman and experienced swimmer.
Barr's family says the only person who may know what happened is the person he went fishing with, but police are not releasing her identity.
Police are waiting for Barr's autopsy results, which is expected early next week.
Barr worked as a custodian at Riverside High School in Yonkers since 1998.
