Police identify victim of New Rochelle 'suspicious death' investigation; suspect arrested

Police said they found 30-year-old Meisha Williams dead from an apparent gunshot Saturday around 10:13 a.m. when police got a call about an incident in an apartment at 55 Clinton Place.

New Rochelle police identified the woman at the center of a suspicious death investigation they handled over the weekend.
Investigators also said a suspect was arrested in the case.
Police said they found 30-year-old Meisha Williams dead from an apparent gunshot Saturday around 10:13 a.m. when police got a call about an incident in an apartment at 55 Clinton Place.
Detectives identified the suspected shooter as 28-year-old Robert Wooten.
Investigators said he was located and arrested in Queens around 9 p.m. Saturday night.
Police said charges were pending as of Sunday evening.
Investigators said officers secured the scene the morning of the incident and located people with information.
Detectives then took over investigation.
A News 12 crew observed officers walking around the area Sunday afternoon.
One of them said that they'll return to the area every so often to make sure people feel safe.
The News 12 crew also observed a forensics truck pull up to the area.
