Stony Point police have identified the two men they arrested in connection to Tuesday's armed home invasion in West Haverstraw.
The suspects have been identified as Keinone Wilson, 35, and Dwayne Holmes, 38. They have both been charged with numerous crimes.
Authorities say the incident began as an armed home invasion inside one of the apartments at a complex on Hasbrouck Drive and spilled outside. They say the suspects then pistol whipped a man and injured two young children. The victims tried to flee the scene in a Dodge pickup truck and numerous shots were fired. Bullet holes from the incident were present on the windshield.
Police report the victims were not hit by gunfire, but that the man had visible injuries to his face and torso and the children had minor cuts and scrapes.
Authorities say the man injured was taken to Nyack Hospital and is expected to be OK. News 12 was told that the children were treated at the scene and released to a family member.
Police say the men took off in the SUV and led them on a chase, crashing into a shed behind a house on Hastings Lane in Stony Point. The two suspects fled on foot and were able to avoid being apprehended. A reverse 911 call was sent out to residents with a description of the suspects. Responding to a tip that was called in, the suspects were taken into custody later that afternoon. On their Facebook Page, police said, "Thanks to our eagle-eyed residents!"
One of the suspects was found at Jay's Pizzeria on North Liberty Drive in Stony Point. According to one tipster, staff saw him run in and he was found hiding from police in a storage closet.
