Police identify Pomona woman as responsible for fatal hit-and-run accident

Authorities were able to identify the suspect, 25-year-old Rosana Pelaez-DiPaolo, based on car parts left at the scene.

A Pomona woman is now facing charges in connection with a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a 72-year-old man.

The accident occurred last month on Thiells-Mount Ivy Road.

According to police, Daniel Deserio was struck by two vehicles.

While one vehicle stopped at the scene and promptly called 911, the second vehicle fled the scene.

Authorities were able to identify the suspect, 25-year-old Rosana Pelaez-DiPaolo, based on car parts left at the scene. Pelaez-DiPaolo has been charged with several offenses, including leaving the scene of an accident involving a death, which is a felony.
