Police identify person killed in Port Jervis teenage brawl

The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Destin Rabess, from Montgomery.

Port Jervis police identified the deceased stabbing victim in a teenage melee this week as 18-year-old Destin Rabess, from Montgomery.
Authorities say two underage teens from Walden, ages 16 and 17, were also injured and that one of them is in critical but stable condition.
The deadly violence unfolded Wednesday around 2:30 a.m. among two groups of up to 12 teens, according to officials, on the corner or Pennsylvania and Jersey avenues.
According to a press release issued by the Port Jervis police Thursday, they responded to Bon Secour Community Hospital after some of the teens involved went there on their own for emergency help.
A source close to the investigation tells News 12 the teens arrived at the hospital in a U-Haul truck and were carrying the deceased victim covered in blood. The source tells News 12 all three victims had stab wounds to their abdomens.
Port Jervis City police are investigating with the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Major Crimes Unit, and Forensic Identification Unit, along with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, and the Hudson Valley Crime Analysis Center.
Police have conducted multiple interviews and say they are gathering information and evidence.

So far, no arrests have been made.
