7h agoDonna Conneely, who police named as a victim in the body parts investigation on Long Island, and Malcolm Brown, the man named as the other victim by family members, had several ties to the Hudson Valley.
Human remains were found at three locations on Long Island on Feb. 29 and March 5.
Police officially identified one of the victims as 59-year-old Conneely. Her most recent listed addresses include homes in Maybrook, Fishkill and Yonkers, where she once lived with Brown, neighbors said.
In a group interview with several media outlets outside Suffolk County Court Monday, Brown's family said Brown was the other victim, though police have not disclosed that.
Police arrested four people in connection to the case: Steven Brown, 44; Amanda Wallace, 40; Jeffrey Mackey, 38; and Alexis Nieves, 33.
All four were charged with hindering prosecution, tampering with evidence and concealment of a human corpse. They are not charged with murder.
All four were processed and released in Suffolk County, ordered to wear monitors. The three charges are not bail-eligible under the state's reformed bail laws.
Brown's sister, Coreen Bullock, said one of the four arrested – Steven Brown – is Malcolm's cousin.
"We were all raised together you know, we're a family," Bullock said, "at least I thought we were a family."
According to the New York State Department of Corrections, Brown served 12 years in prison for an attempted murder conviction and parole violation in Westchester County. He was released in 2015.
Conneely's family was not reachable for comment.
Some neighbors and officials said investigators recently visited Conneely's last listed address in Fishkill, an apartment complex off Route 9.
Brown and Conneely were a couple, according to social media posts and friends who asked not to be named.
Those sources told News 12 they did not want to be identified, fearing retaliation from the four people arrested who are not currently being held in jail.
Police have not disclosed any possible motive for the crime, nor anything about the circumstances leading up to Brown and Conneely's deaths.
All four of those arrested are due back in court separately over the next week beginning Thursday.
