Police received a report last week alleging that Babik had made threats against law enforcement, prompting them to investigate further.
Upon searching his apartment, law enforcement officials say they uncovered a loaded handgun, leading to Babik's immediate arrest. Authorities say subsequent searches of the premises revealed an array of firearms, including three more handguns, three ghost guns, and three long guns. Officers also found body armor and thousands of bullets on the property, according to authorities.
Babik is facing multiple charges, including criminal weapon possession and violation of parole.
