A husband and wife are dead in Orange County after an apparent murder-suicide.
Authorities removed two bodies from the home at 6 Knox Road in Highland Falls Friday after 41-year-old Mario Vanzetta apparently shot his wife, 41-year-old Stephanie Vanzetta, before turning the gun on himself.
The couple had three children, who neighbors say were all under the age of 15.
Neighbors told News 12 that Mario Vanzetta allegedly dropped his three children off at school Friday morning before the killing took place.
Pastor Agnes Saffoury told News 12 that she had just spoken with Stephanie Vanzetta last week at the local salon where the mother worked part-time as a beautician. She says Vanzetta admitted there were problems in the couple’s marriage.
“I know there was some tension…she really wasn't able to talk about it,” said Pastor Agnes.
State police say autopsies will be conducted on both bodies to determine the exact cause of death.
