Two men are behind bars for allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase in Yonkers and damaging six parked cars as they fled.
The incident happened at approximately 3 p.m. on Central Park Avenue.
One of the two major scenes in the chase occurred in front of Central Nissan. The other was a block down at the intersection of Melrose Avenue, where witnesses shared video with News 12 capturing the tail-end of the pursuit.
The video seems to show one of the suspects running and eventually being apprehended by police. The second suspect was also apprehended.
Police say the vehicle was under investigation for being involved in a pattern of delivery package larcenies.
Officials identified the vehicle in the area and attempted to stop it. They say the vehicle did not stop and subsequently drove northbound in the southbound lanes on Central Park Avenue. During the incident, the car hit at least six parked cars.
Two police cruisers crashed while chasing the suspects and three officers were injured, but police say no one suffered any life-threatening injuries.
Officials say that the car became disabled, and the two individuals in the car attempted to flee on foot. Eyewitnesses tell News 12 the suspects were bloody and injured.
They were taken to hospitals to be treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The vehicle was impounded as evidence.
