Police say a driver was killed in a head-on collision in Dutchess County.

It happened just before 6 a.m. on State Route 44 near Brown Road in Pleasant Valley.

State police say a Nissan Murano heading eastbound and passing two vehicles struck a westbound Chrysler Town & Country.

The operator of the Chrysler was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police are asking anyone with information on the incident to contact them.
