Police say a 35-year-old driver crashed through a warning gate and hit a train in Saugerties Friday night.

They say Esther Lee, of Montebello, went through a railroad crossing around 11:30 p.m.

The crash caused excessive damage to both the vehicle and the crossing gate.

Lee was the only person inside the car. She is still in the hospital where News 12 is told charges against her are pending.
