In the wake of Thursday's deadly shooting that killed four Marines in Chattanooga, Tennessee, military recruiting sites nationwide have increased security, including across the Hudson Valley.

White Plains police were clearly visible outside a recruiting station on Mamaroneck Avenue Friday morning to protect the unarmed soldiers inside.

Four unarmed Marines were murdered in Thursday's violence, with three others wounded, including a police officer.

Investigators have identified the shooter as Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez, a 24-year-old naturalized U.S. citizen who was born in Kuwait and also held Jordanian citizenship. He attended American high school and college.

Federal law prevents military personnel at recruiting centers from carrying weapons. Many are now calling for that law to change.
